Smoke and fires are all around us....they smell bad and look bad....but what are the real dangers to your health from all this impaired air quality?

The biggest health threat from smoke is from fine particles. They can cause a range of health problems , from burning eyes and a running nose to aggravated chronic heart and lung diseases, even premature death.

Especially at risk are persons with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teenagers, people with diabetes or pregnant woman.

Symptoms experienced from high concentrations of smoke may include burning eyes, runny nose , cough & wheezing. Those with heart or lung disease,it may make symptoms worse, might experience chest pain, palpitations.

This is an important time to know what to do in case of an emergency....what if you or a loved one is in need of immediate care? What can you do to prevent a situation from developing or becoming worse?

Primary and Secondary care guidelines will help you to be informed and prepared for whatever situations should arise. Get trained or keep your training up to date.
