We all know that song.
But, what if we turn it around and ask ourselves that question? What have I done for me lately? We all get caught up in running around for everyone else....the kids need to get to activities, our spouses need to get to work, our friends need someone to talk to about 'things' , our parents....our siblings....our bosses....
But when do we do something for ourselves? When do you take that hour in the day to refill your cup? It can be a double edged sword...it feels good to do things for other people...it makes us feel loved and needed. But what about giving so much of ourselves until there is nothing left for us? What then?
That's when we need to take a step back and reevaluate what we are spending our time doing, and is that the best use of our time? Where is the bulk of your day going and is it getting you closer to your goals? Do you even know what your goals are?
We always ask children...'What do you want to be when you grow up?'....but have you asked yourself that lately? Is 'what you want' and 'where you are' in alignment? If not, why not? Have you simply lost sight of what you want? Have you forgotten in the hustle and bustle of daily life where it was that you were headed?
Maybe it's time for you now to answer that question by doing something for yourself. If you have put off that fitness program because of time constraints...start it now. If you want a new job ....or a new hair do ...or more education....do it now! Start with a little baby step each day to get you toward your goal.
At the end of the day...be able to answer that question...I have done alot for me today!
