Give yourself a hand!

Your right hand that is! Take a good look at your right hand. Did you know that that is about as much food as you need for your body size at a meal. What? You might say....you bet! Your palm is the size of your protein source. ( An average chicken breast is about 6-8 ozs, supplying around 7g of protein per ounce=42 g of your recommended daily allowance of about 56g/per day). The fingers are the amount of vegetables (or more), with the recommended amount per day being 2-3 cups. . The L made by your thumb and pointer finger is the size of starch you need

(1/3 c of rice). So next time you 'fill' your plate...look at your right hand first.
